Cardiff City Football Club have appointed forensic accounting experts to investigate the dealings of Sam Hammam whilst he was chairman of the club.
Mr Hammam, a charismatic Lebanese businessman, was chairman of Cardiff City between 2000 and 2006.  He was also in charge of Wimbledon FC during the 80s and 90s when the club was fondly known as the “Crazy Gang.”
Cardiff City have appointed forensic accounting experts to consider the legitimacy of the loans and expenditure incurred when the club was under control of Mr Hammam.  With considerable debts, the club are seeking to convert a chunk of debt to shares in the club, and also to set up a new payment plan with their creditors.
