We were instructed as forensic accountants to act for the directors of a property company which had a commercial dispute with one of its directors.  It was suspected that there had been a breach of fiduciary duty and that on particular director had purchased properties for the company from the same estate where he had acquired properties for himself.

The directors needed a forensic accountant to calculate the losses they had suffered due to the actions of this single director. It transpired that he had overspent on the properties. He had not been sufficiently careful about the prices paid by the company in view of his personal desire to have the property prices as high as possible.

Following extensive analytical work and negotiations, were able to help settle the commercial dispute and the directors recovered £140,000 by way of damages from the offending director.
