We instructed by our insurance clients who needed the expertise offorensic accountants with a contractual dispute regarding a £5,000,000 Business Interruption claim from a shoe manufacturer following a flood at their factory.

By the time we were instructed the insured had already received some £550,000 of payments on account. We had to deal with particularly aggressive company directors who were very reluctant to accept our instructions by their insurer.

Perhaps that proved to be not too surprising, as our forensic accounting team carried out very detailed analysis of the operation of the business and its key areas.

Our forensic accounting report into the contractual dispute showed that the loss was only £400,000. The insured only received a modest further sum, as a contribution towards costs, in addition to the interim payments already received.
